Baptist Health Hospice is seeking dedicated volunteers who are passionate about supporting hospice patients and their families. This is a remote volunteer opportunity that allows volunteers to work from the comfort of their homes.

The role of the Hospice Volunteer is to provide support services to hospice patients and families in collaboration with agency staff. The primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for families under stress and to provide care, companionship, and comfort that is the heart of hospice.

The ideal candidate for this position must have successfully completed Baptist Health Hospice volunteer training/orientation and be committed to the concept and philosophy of care upheld by Baptist Health Hospice. Good listening and communication skills are a must, and the volunteer should be able to communicate clearly and sensitively. They should be able to accept supervision and guidance, follow rules of confidentiality, and perform services reliably on schedule. Additionally, they should be able to work well as a member of a team, respect patient/family belief systems, and have successfully incorporated losses in their own life.
